Nerd Girls are Hot

Most of the time, these model women are not the type that can be expected to leap off of the fashion show stage, don surgical garb and save a life. No, with these women no one cares how much of a brain they have. The main criteria is do they have the looks and the body that will make men go to the movies and buy their wives and girlfriends the clothes they are wearing. True brainiacs are thought to wear thick glasses and snort when they laugh. They will inundate the questing man with the inanities of rocket science when all he wants to hear about is how great his pecs look. But take my word for it. Nerd girls are hot! There are always shows on TV that showcase some type of nerd who may be a brain, but they are so socially clueless that they cannot wriggle themselves out of the simplest situation. They are either relegated to the periphery of a much cooler pack (Screech) or they are the object of continual ridicule and bullying (Revenge of the Nerds.) However, TV has been trying to reverse the cycle and show nerds in a positive light. Many shows have hot doctors or detectives that are not only brainy but sexy. “Bones” has a socially clueless Doctor Brennan who is the head of a team of forensic investigators working with the FBI. Dr. Brennan is the new type of nerd girl. She may be so wrapped up in her scientific pursuit that she does not understand social play (the very definition of a nerd), but she is also extremely sexy, even when she is leaning over a bloated corpse. The new nerd girl must have a few hot friends who can clue her into the social situations that she has been misunderstanding for so many years and trying to convince her that men are more than just clueless colleagues. From the female doctors on “House” to the many detectives on the “CSI” franchise, nerd girls now rule the small screen like the June Cleaver’s of yesteryear. Speaking of yesteryear, most men will always pick the nerdy MaryAnn over the seductive, sophisticated Ginger any day. The reasons seem to be a little vague, but there seem to be a few main explanations. One these nerd girls are hot! They take care of themselves and exude a sensuality that their ditzy counterparts just cannot equal. They are also not as socially adept, so they are less likely to play ridiculous mind games. Another point is that they are normally more attainable than the hot girl who dolls herself up and knows she’s hot. This attainability comes from the fact that they are more willing to take a man for what he is than try and change him. Also, they probably make a lot of money with their Einstein-like cerebella. The good thing is that many are realizing that nerd girls are the new vogue. They are proving that you can have a brain and still appeal to the opposite sex.
